Rex Stout Redux

In Book Reviews, Uncategorized on September 27, 2012 at 2:07 am

I’m revisiting Rex Stout and have to say he’s a genius for conveying the energy and elegance of 1950’s New York (from someone who’s only visited there once, but it was for three days, so obviously I’m 412).   The chemistry between Nero and Archie confirms what I’ve known all along, you need a side-kick to have a really successful mystery.  But what I love most about the series is that the books Nero reads are books I want to find… a sure sign of success.  I need to find the Christmas story where Nero dresses up like Santa.  I think it’s in Three to Go but probably should wiki to make sure.
